I totally forgot to count 3 games of Magic, 1 game of Hive and 2 game of Carcassonne for the month of January! Beside Magic games, I lost all the other ones! My wife defeated me at Hive and Carcassonne…After all, maybe it wasn’t an inadvertent omission. Eh! No one will ever know.
I don’t know why but all the people who I’m playing with at Carcassonne don’t like to play with farmers. They’re buying expansions over expansions, but never play with F-A-R-M-E-R-S! This is crazy. Don’t you think?
For the second game of January, I convinced my wife, her name is Noémie by the way, to play with the farmers. I helped her to understand the rules, place her farmers and show her how to connect grass using two-tiles strategy.
Well, she learned really quickly:
– 192 vs 182 for her, without farmer
– 252 vs 203 for her, with farmers
I would say that we’re still in the “finding a strategy” moment… I didn’t compile the win-to-lost ratio, but 50% seems legit.
We first started to play Hive in December with a PnP version that I found on BGG… But the feeling of the tiles was missing. This game is way above my expectations. The heavy tile add an extra pleasure to the game and it is soooo mush easier to move them around, not like PnP tiles cut out of a thick-as-an-hair-paper.
Lastly, we add the Pillbug. This little guy is my favorite so far. Stick it close to your queen and you will be able to move dangerous opponent’s insects, that are trying to surround you lovely queen bee, out of the way.
